Prayer Letter
October 21st 2009
One of the many things we enjoy doing for the Russian speaking people of Eastern Europe and Israel is to translate and publish books and DVD teachings in to the Russian language. The Russian people love to read and are eager to get their hands on all types of spiritual food.
Some of the titles of the books we have translated and published are:
The Importance of Forgiveness
The Kingdom of God: Now, but Not Yet
The Power of Blessing One another.
Prayers that Heal the Heart.
3 of the above books have been sold out after initial production of 2000 copies and we are now in 2nd printing.
We produce CD's and DVD teachings to try to distribute into smaller towns and areas which we are not able to travel to now. Our newest media project has been a DVD school called"School of Champions". This is a 15 DVD set of 30 minute teachings for new believers which pastors can use in home group and discipleship settings. To have an interpreter sit down and do word for word simultaneous translation is a difficult process but it is worth the fruit. Some of the topics include:
The Word of God
The Cross
Walking in the Light
God's view of sex
The importance of a clear conscience
We have produced 150 of these sets to distribute to churches and home groups and they are almost already gone. We will be doing part 2 with another 15 teachings next year.
In the past we were also able to buy one half hour a week of time on a Christian Television Satellite network called CNL. It broadcasts to all of the former Soviet Union and down into Israel. Many of our conferences and teachings were broadcast regularly but because of lack of funds we had to discontinue. However, the network has been kind enough to show our teachings for free once in a while when they have a break in their schedule. So our broadcast is still being seen once in a while.
Another media tool we use is our website. It is run by one of our pastors, Dima Oleshko, and has over 1 million visits on it per month from all over the Russian speaking world. It has been a great blessing as computer use is increasing across the former Soviet Union.
Paul said, " How can they hear without a preacher?" So we are using all tools available to us in this unique hi-tech generation.
Our next trip to Ukraine is the 2nd week of November. Thanks for your prayers and support.
blessings,
